The Oral School for the Deaf in Memphis is a place where children who otherwise may never be heard, learn to speak. "Little Tikes and our rep had such a great understanding of what our children needed and what products were available to help us meet our objectives," said Teresa Schwartz, Executive Director of the school. "They put lots of care in drawing up the plan and incorporated opportunities for imaginative play and physical activity with intriguing components like a metal piano with a keyboard that the kids can 'hear' by feeling the vibrations. Plus, because many of our students have cochlear implants that can be corrupted by static electricity, they were able to build the playground entirely of metal components. They even added shade toppers to keep things cool—it gets very hot in the summer in Memphis. They made the whole project easy; they thought of all details and were exceptionally responsive to our needs. They even helped us with zoning issues. We were blown away by the service!"
